About

My name is Vanessa Niño. I am a wife, mom, and Open Fire Cook with a deep love for gathering people around fire, food, and tradition. My Catholic faith is the foundation of everything I do, inspiring me to see cooking not simply as nourishment, but as a way to connect, celebrate, and express gratitude.

I grew up in Colombia as the daughter of a German-Brazilian mother and a Colombian father, in a home where cultures, flavors, and traditions blended seamlessly. Traveling to different countries shaped my appreciation for global cuisine and deepened my understanding of how food carries history, identity, and community across generations.

My journey into open-fire cooking began in 2020 when we built a wood-fired oven at home. What started as an experiment quickly became a calling. I discovered a passion for cooking over live fire and for the intentional, slow process that comes with it. Fire became more than a cooking method—it became a way to honor tradition, create meaningful experiences, and bring people together around the table. Today, I bring that passion on the road through live-fire cooking experiences and events centered on heritage, connection, and community.

Whether cooking for intimate gatherings, live-fire events, or collaborative culinary experiences, my goal is always the same: to create food that feels soulful, intentional, and deeply connected to culture, tradition, and the people gathered around the fire.

"Showcase the beauty of open flame at your next event."
